Pigeon droppings make a rubefacient drug and become dissolving when used with barley pain wrist treatment buy aspirin 100 pills on line. Cosmetics: Sheep dung together with vinegar sciatic pain treatment videos buy aspirin 100 pills without prescription, is used in cases of herpetic neck pain treatment quick fix discount aspirin 100 pills with mastercard, claval and thymic warts pain treatment for herniated disc aspirin 100pills overnight delivery. Similar properties are attributed to the excrements of rice-fed starling, lizard and monitor which improve the complexion. Swellings: Application of cow dung with vinegar on hot abscesses gives relief to the patient. Goat dung is used in cases of ichthyosis and the dung of bustard and rice-fed starling is used in ringworm. Similarly the goat dung, specially from the mountain goats, is applied with the fats of swine in cases of gout and sciatica. The dung from goats, specially mixed with vinegar, is useful in hardness of the joints and their inflammations which is confirmed by practical experience. In such a case the moisture of the dung is also squeezed and instilled in the nose to stop bleeding. Eye: the dungs of monitor, mastigure and crocodile are remedies for corneal opacity. Mouse excreta also proved to be useful in cases of corneal ulcers including those with pus. Chest: Swine dung, administered with water or wine, is useful in haemoptysis and pleuralgia. It is, however, essential that the child should be fed on the bread made of lupin so that the stench of faeces is minimized. Cow dung alongwith some aromatic substances is useful in consumption and allied lung affections. Excretion: the prolapsus uteri should be treated with the fumigation of the dung of a bull. Experience has shown that dried and powdered dung in the form of a pessary is useful in uterine bleeding, specially in combination with frankincense. For this purpose the dung is to be taken diluted in water or a decoction or with any aromatic preparation. The dung should be procured from a wolf which has taken thorns or the herb of Indian bedellium along with the roots and it should contain some white bone-pieces. This kind of dung should be suspended around the neck after putting it either in the wolf skin or as a suppository made from the wool of a she-goat which escaped from the wolf or alternatively in the skin of stag or as Galen once did it, in a silver vessel. It must be suspended around the waist of the patient and thus it would be beneficial for the colic pain. According to Galen when this dung is taken or used at a time of respite it would stop pain gradually by its desiccating property. Mouse excreta, if taken with frankincense or any wine, dissolves the stones (of kidneys or bladder) and also loosens bowels of the children when used as a suppository. The excreta of a dog, living on bones, is beneficial in diarrhoea and intestinal ulcers. For this purpose, it is taken as an enema or as a syrup decocted with milk along with some pieces of iron or stones. Head: Washing the hair with it, removes the dandruff and also it cleanses the teeth. Excretion: the powdered and burnt glass is very useful in bladder and kidney stones specially when taken orally with wine. Nature: As far as I know zadwdr is, actually, jadwiir (which has been discussed under the letter "Jim"). Nature: According to Dioscorides Indian birthwort is of various kinds: (a) long, (b) round and (c) an elongated cylindrical variety which resembles vine-stalks. Its leaves resemble the leaves of the plant qissiis (Labdanum), which is a kind of labliib having a round shape and intense fragrance. Indian birthwort has various soft branches springing out from a single and long root. Its branches are nearly a hand-span in length which bear pear-shaped purple coloured flowers with a fetid odour. The gold coloured long variety has thin [eaves resembling the house leek and its flowers are like those of common rue. Its root, which is very long and thick-skinned, is used by druggists for the preservation of oils. Temperament: All kinds of Indian birthwort are hot in the third degree and dry in the second degree. Properties: Indian birthwort is detergent, attenuant, deobstruent, rarefying and an absorbent drug. The long variety is considered best for promoting the growth of flesh and for healing ulcers because it is more sweet and warm. The potency of long variety equals that of the round variety in its warming action but it is probably superior in tenuity. The round variety is more attenuant; hence it effectively alleviates the pain attributed to gases. Cosmetics: Indian birthwort is useful in pityriasis and is useful for clearing dental sordes. Ulcers: Indian birthwort specially its long variety cleanses dirty and malignant ulcers. It prevents the formation of putrid flesh in deep ulcers and when used with orris root, it fills up the ulcers with flesh. It is useful in muscular fatigue and its oral intake in patients of gout is beneficial.

The second generalization is that stream-breeders tend to have weaker voices than pond-breeders. In some streambreeding species, such as members of the assume that the fundamental frequency varies from 110 to 125 cycles per second. If the dominant frequency individuals, let us Hyla bistincta and mixomaculata groups and is some sent, species of Plectrohyh. A shift of one harmonic is hyhi, whereas in Ptychohyla, some Plectroand members of the Hyla pinorum and sumichrasti groups the voice is soft. Bellis (1957) noted that in Pseudatriseriata the note repetition rate increased and the duration of the notes decreased with a rise in temperature. The geographic mosaic of variation in calls in Hyla eximia points out the fact calls in that species pulse and Jameson (1965) between temperature and duration of notes and note repetition rate in Hyla regilla. Snyder and obtained high correlations that that many more recordings are needed and perhaps we are dealing with two or sibling). Such geographic variation has been pointed out in During the course of the present study, few conclusive data were obtained on the effect of temperature on calls. This is due principally to the fact that most of the recordings of a given species were obtained within a relatively narrow span of temperature. Analyses of the audiospectrograms of these recordings showed Hyla staufferi by Leon (1968) and in Hyla microcephala, robertmertensi, and phlebodes - by Duellman and Fouquette (1968). Notably because of the absence of large series of recordings of a given species from throughout its range, geographic variation in the mating call of frogs has been largely ignored. Future students of geoof calls graphic variation in the characteristics are obligated to: 1) Record the temperature of the frog immediately after recording the for call, 2) Preserve the recorded individual positive made up one species from each that group. Duellman and Trueb (1966) noted the calls of the allopatric species Smilisca are not greatly different, sila Smilisca sordida has a distinctively whereas different call and occurs sympatrically with puma and puma and and subsequent meaTake into account temperature surement, 3) and size in the analysis of geographic variaObtain large series of recordings tion, and 4 so that the variation can be treated statistiidentification) sila. Duellman and Fouquette (1968) noted that of the four species in the Hyla microcepliala group, the most divergence in mating calls occurs in the only two sympatric species in the group Hyla micro- - cally. In the Mexican Hyla eximia group, the as the Mating Call an Isolating Mechanism mating call in and synchronic breeding congresympatric gations have been discussed and substantiated by numerous authors working with a variety of frogs in North and Middle America, Australia, and South America (see Bogert, 1960, and Blair, 1964, for recent summaries). The mating call as an ethological isolating mechanism has been studied in several Middle American hylids Hijla eximia group by Blair (1960), Ptijchohyla by Duellman (1963c), Smilisca by Duellman and Trueb (1966), Hyla microcepliala group by Duellman and the isolating effects of the of the geographically adjacent Hyla eximia (long series of notes) and Hyla euare phorbiacea (short series of short notes) the widely distinctly different. The calls of calls allopatric very much patrically Hyla etiphorbiacea and walked are alike. Hyla plicata occurs symwith eximia and differs from exi- - in Fouquette (196S), three sympatric species Panama by Fouquette (1960b) and 10 symDuellman patric species in Costa Rica by, mia by having a long, trilled note. In the Middle American members of the Hyla boans are group, the ranges of boans and crepitans exclusive, whereas rosenbergi ocmutually curs sympatrically with both boans and crepitans. Although the number of notes in each and call-group, the duration of the notes, the level of the fundamental frequency are different between boans and crepitans other On the parameters of the calls are similar. The conclusions drawn by these authors are supported by data from my analysis of the mating calls of 76 species of Middle much lower dominant frequency (272 cycles American most important conclusion is that sympatric and synchronic breeding species have distinctly different mathylids. In all cases of which I am aware, these differences in calls are distinguishable by the practiced human ear and are clearly is mechanisms sometimes fail; this strongly suggested by an individual frog Isolating recognizable on audiospectrograms. Morphobetween logically, the frog is intermediate are placed into two species groups on morpho- and on differences of in the euthysanota mating group have a call consisting of a long, wellpulsed note, whereas the call of members of the schmidtorum group consists of a series of short notes. Throughout most of the range of the genus sympatric species pairs breed side Members the A recording obtained of the call of another individual at the same time shows that the call is intermediate in some parameters and different Hyla crepitans and rosenbergi. Mecham (1960) documented natural hybridization between Hyla cinerea by side along streams; in each case the and gratiosa in Alabama. He provided evidence that the three species have calls that are qualitatively and quantitatively different, and he assumed that females matic tool in Agahjchnis (Duellman, 1963d), Smilisca (Duellman, 1963c), Ptychohyla (Duellman and Trueb, 1966), and in the microcephala group (Duellman and Fouquette, 1968). Knowledge of differences in mating calls has been useful in recognizing Hyla discriminate and respond only to the call of their own species. Experimental by Martof and Thompson 195S), Little- morphic species, such as Hyla ebraccata and weyerae, have aided in the determination of the existence of only one species (Duellman, 1966b). Schi0tz summarized his work on the mating calls as follows: "Seen as a unit, the voices of the West African Amphibia can be expected to be subjected rules: to the following, partly alternative Although each species has characteristic calling and oviposition sites, these sites are not necessarily aspects of courtship exclusive. Consequently, these and mating cannot be considered as primary mechanisms operating these conclusions to prevent mismatings. That the voices are in accordance with the morphological characters supporting the taxonomy, so that the species within a genus have characters in common, not shared with of species from other genera, and members in one family have characters in comgenera stream-breeding frogs. That it is essential that the voice of a Most of the studies on mating anurans have been concerned with entiation calls of call differ- certain species can be distinguished from all other voices it is heard together with, i. Littlejohn (1959) ported utilized mating calls in his studies on the Australian leptodactylids of the genus Crinia. The mating call has been utilized as a syste- fauna, excepting geographically non-overlapthere ping species. This rule would mean that is the greatest possible diversity in the voices from one breeding fauna. For example, of the six spefall into cies in Smilisca, three are in the first category, one in the second, and two in the third, and in the Phrynohyas, and some species groups in Hyla and Ptychohyla have several call parameters in common with other members of the same taxonomic group, an equal Pseudacris, the first Hyla rubra group two species are in category and three are in the second. Hyla sanota group, and the series of nasal notes produced by Hyla eximia is more like the call of Hyla staufferi and certain other members of the predominantly South Within groups of closely related species, the kinds of differences between species are variable. Although minor differences in the level of the American Hyla ru- fundamental and dominant fre- bra group than members group. I have serious doubts about the influence of the habitat on the apply diphasic structure of primary and secondary notes.
